My mother once corrected me when I claimed that love only made up 10% of a relationship, and the remaining 90% of hard-work and pure sweat.
She said.
It's 90% love, then 10% hard-work. You gotta love your spouse more than the amount of toil you put through. Only with love, will you be inspired to keep going. Then I argued.
It's impossible for there to be more love than drudgery, a relationship is just too much of it!She returned.
Then can you imagine how much love inspires that?I paused. Considered. Then continued.
Then do you love Dad that much? Thinking that, ah ha! I caught her there.
Her response without a heartbeat of hesitation.
Ya! Kena bastard.
We had this conversation probably close to a year ago, and it was like any TV commercial conversation we always have. But it stuck. And even though we had it in the most matter-of-fact manner, everything about it was so moving that no matter what fashion you say it, its essence is there and I think it'll stir emotions in almost any common person.
